Transport links to and from Hope Hospital
|

|
If you are heading for Hope from the station go through this walkway over the motorway...
...cross the road and head right parallel to the M602
...then head for the White Horse pub...and walk straight past.
Following the sign...Hope Hospital is further up this road.....
...so it's straight on at these lights into Eccles Old Road towards Pendleton/Salford Precinct... ...and the Eccles Old Road (pedestrian) entrance is on the right hand side of the road near the crossing.
If you are in a car though, you go straight on at this junction and turn next right into Stott Lane. Visitor car parking is situated in Stott Lane.

By Metrolink (tram)Metrolink links Eccles with Salford Quays, Manchester City Centre and the rest of the Metrolink tram network. The line passes along Eccles New Road past the southern end of Stott Lane. The nearest station to the hospital is Ladywell which is on Eccles New Road, but it's at least 10 minutes' walk from Hope. As an alternative to walking from Ladywell, you may prefer to stay on the tram as far as Eccles and catch a bus from the bus station - just a few feet from the tram stop. Suggestions, comments and grumbles about public transport in Greater Manchester can be sent to the Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Executive via this link. |

There are many buses passing by - or very near - the
hospital, including the 10, 67, 68, 100 and M10,. Check the timetables by
clicking the links on the main GMPTE site. In addition to
these services there are other buses to Eccles which is half a mile
away.
If you are travelling to Hope Hospital from Manchester Victoria train station, the easiest way to get to the medical library is to use one of the buses (numbers 10, 67, 68, 100, M10) which depart from the stops at Cross Street, facing the entrance to the Royal Exchange Theatre. Cross Street continues Corporation Street heading southwest. Corporation Street is the main road situated to the left side of Victoria Station. At the end of your journey alight from the bus at the stop just after the Stott Lane traffic lights and you will find the Postgraduate Centre just inside the Hospital grounds within yards of the bus stop. If you are travelling from Manchester Piccadilly or Manchester Oxford Road train station, take the free number 1 or 2 bus respectively, and you will be taken to Victoria train station.Once there follow the instructions in the previous paragraph.
